Bolton Mets RLFC

Bolton Mets are a community Rugby League Club formed in Breightmet and in 2020 we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary. Since the clubs formation in 1995, we have operated one open age team with hundreds of players making appearances for the Mets along the way. In 2013 we formed a link with Bolton RUFC meaning we are now based at Bolton Rugby Club in Avenue Street, just off Chorley Old Road.

Our Home matches are played at Bolton Rugby Club on Saturday afternoons during the Summer months (from March until September inclusive), with games kicking off at 2.30pm. We provide an opportunity for males aged 16 yrs and over to take part in physical activity that has several benefits, such as fitness, discipline, teamwork and mental toughness.

In 2014, we formed a partnership with Essa Academy in Lever Edge Lane that allows us to train during the Winter months. Essa has both a MUGA (trainers needed) and a 3G pitch (moulded studs needed) which allows us to conduct certain drills on the right surface. Once the clocks go forward we return to Bolton Rugby Club to train on grass (boots needed) so that we can use the full size pitch for game related drills.

We are a friendly and welcoming club who hope to promote the game of Rugby League within the town and surrounding areas. Everyone is welcome to join the club and give Rugby League a TRY!. We are always looking for new players, committee members and volunteers so please feel free to get in touch if you want to get involved.
