Building Opportunities is a service which is run by Ashcroft School. We offer students aged 14 to 19, who have struggled with the traditional school or college placements opportunities to enter one of the fastest growing industries – construction. We have developed a provision offering a number of construction based vocational activities. These offer students the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications at levels 1 and 2 in a range of specialist areas. Bolton Lads & Girls Club is the biggest youth centre in the UK and is based in Bolton town centre. The Club is open 7 days-a-week, 52 weeks-a-year and welcomes all young people aged 8-21 years old. As well as the basic 7 nights-a-week youth club service, the Club also provides dozens of other projects for the town’s young people; The Mentoring Project, Sport, Pathways 2 Success, Residentials, Outreach & School Holiday Project to name just a few. Thomasson Sensory Support Service formerly Bolton Sensory Support Service) supports children and young people (0-25) with sensory impairment: Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment and Multi Sensory Impairment. Children and Young people are usually referred to the service through clinical settings (Ophthalmology and Audiology). The service provides support, advice and information to families and education providers.
